The Faculty was founded by the law numbered 41 enacted after being published in formal numbered 17760 on 20.07.1982. It is started its academic activities with Departments of Biology and Physics at 03.12.1982. Today the Faculty has eight Departments which are Mathematics, Chemistry, Turkish Language and Literature, History and History of Arts together with Biology and Physics.
Faculty provides undergraduate education in four years. After two years, if it is required, the student may own the Pre-license Diploma. After the students completed undergraduate education, they can continue to graduate schools for MSc degrees with or without Thesis.

All the buildings of the Faculty will be completed at the beginning of 2003 in Güllapoğlu Campüs. Teaching is conducted with a combination of lectures, problem solving sesions and laboratory works with tutariol arrangement to academic support for all student. Quality of education is based on the needs of the country and 21. century.

At the three Departments a second program is available for extern students after 6 p.m.
